Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Video Showcases Real Life Parkour Stunts

Watch parkour artists simulate stunts from DICE's upcoming action adventure.

DICE has begun the hype train for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, its reboot of the original first person parkour simulator, and that means videos with parkour experts donning cameras and taking a stroll. Direct and choreographed by Claudiu Voicu, this video actually has four parkour artists in it and employs visual effects to make it resemble Mirror’s Edge. Check it out above.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst was first teased at E3 2013 with some behind the scenes footage revealed at E3 2014 at EA’s presentation. At that point, it didn’t even have an official name, until DICE came out recently and announced it. Catalyst won’t be a sequel or follow-up to the original game. Instead, it will explore Faith’s origins and her background story. Whatever the setting may be, the above parkour video at least hints that Faith’s reputation as a Runner is still far from the most legal activity in the city of the future.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Gameplay footage will apparently be revealed at EA’s E3 2015 conference on June 15th with a Q1 2016 release date planned.
