Developer Bellring Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming PvPvE action RPG, Mistfall Hunter, just a few days before its launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The trailer, which you can check out below, clocks in at almost two and a half minutes in length, and kicks things off by establishing the world’s atmosphere before showing off gameplay.
The world of Mistfall Hunter is a dying one, with its gods having all perished and Gyldenmist taking over the realm. Players step into the shoes of Gyldhunters who head into the corrupted areas of the realm to beat enemies that have been twisted by the spread of the Gyldenmist. Along the way, they also get their hands on new loot to help them deal with fearsome foes, which can range from standard enemies to epic boss fights.
Throwing a wrench into the standard flow of gameplay is the fact that groups of players will also have to deal with other players who are trying to complete their own objectives. Interactions between these groups can range from sneakily avoiding each other to full-blown battles where each player has to make full use of their character’s abilities to deal with the threat.
Simply killing enemies isn’t enough, however, since players will also have to successfully return to the safety of Windrest. To do so, players will need to look for extraction opportunities which take the form of a bell dubbed Soul of Return. The world also features other means of escape for players daring enough to venture deeper into the corruption.
The trailer itself showcases a variety of gameplay that includes facing regular enemies and looting treasure chests before they come face-to-face with another group of Gyldhunters. This then descends into a brutal battle that ends with the complete death of one group. Before the trailer caps things off, we get a look at one of the potential boss fights from the game.
Mistfall Hunter’s July 30th release comes after quite a few beta tests conducted by Bellring Games. Just last month, the studio ran another one of its open beta tests and celebrated it with a trailer showcasing some gameplay and Gyldhunter abilities.
A more thorough gameplay deep dive trailer was released in May that gave us a look at Gyldhunter abilities, which can vary depending on the player’s choice of classes. The combat itself will feature melee fights with heavy weapons, explosive magic spells, and even supporting characters armed with a bow and arrows to help apply continued pressure on foes. At launch, Mistfall Hunter will feature six distinct classes, each one capable of using two unique weapon stances.
While players can step into Mistfall Hunter as a squad of up to three Gyldhunters, the title also supports solo play, allowing players to enjoy the game regardless of whether or not they can find potential allies.
Along with coming to all platforms’ respective storefronts, Mistfall Hunter is also making its way to Game Pass across its PC and Ultimate subscription tiers.
