Monolith Soft’s “X” Premieres at Nintendo Direct E3 2013

The XenoGears is strong with this one.

Satoru Iwata introduced a ton of new games that will be arriving for the Wii U and 3DS in the coming months. Some of them we’re aware of, while others, like Monolith Soft’s “X”, are brand new.

Not much was showcased in the premiere trailer for the game, which can be seen above. We catch a lone protagonist walking through different settings, one of them being a dock full of mechs. Not much is revealed but we do catch a glimpse of the environments and other NPCs.

For now, “X” seems to be a tentative title for the game. We get a strong XenoGears vibe from the whole experience and considering that Monolith Soft is responsible for XenoSaga and XenoBlade Chronicles, this undoubtedly appears to be another addition to the franchise.

No release date has been set but we look forward to hearing more about “X” in the coming months. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
