Monster Hunter Rise

One of the biggest games of 2021 is coming in its early months with Monster Hunter Rise. The game will hit Nintendo’s hybrid in March, and just recently got a big demo that apparently briefly murdered the servers for the Nintendo eShop. There’s a lot of impressions out there for it now, and as always you’ll be joined by some cute companions as you slay monsters, and if you crave something a tad normal at your side, you’re in luck.

The game features the iconic Palico, a cat-like creature, and a new dog-like counterpart called the Palamute. If you pre-order the game, you can get layered armor that takes away their stylized look for something a bit more real world. The Palamute gets turned into a big golden retriever and the Palico gets turned into a normal “forest cat.” Capcom released videos to show off both bonuses, which you can see below. The Palamute does just look like a massive normal dog, but the Palico looks maybe even more surreal since it still stands on its hindlegs in battle.

Monster Hunter Rise will release on Nintendo Switch March 26th. A demo is now available and will be until February 1st, and you can read more details on it through here.
