Capcom recently announced that Monster Hunter Rise, which is currently only available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, will soon be headed to PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well. It’s launch, however, will come with a caveat that those who prefer to buy physical copies of their games won’t much care for.
As reported by Gematsu on Twitter, Capcom has confirmed that when Monster Hunter Rise launches for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, it will only be available digital only. Currently, the company has no plans to launch a physical version of the game on the platforms. That would mean the Switch remains the only platform where you can get a physical copy of the action RPG.
Monster Hunter Rise will run at 4K and 60 FPS on current-gen consoles, while Capcom has confirmed that a 1080p/120 FPS option will also be available. The game is set to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One on January 20 (and will be available day and date via Game Pass), with the expansion, Sunbreak, arriving in Spring.
Capcom has confirmed to Gematsu that Monster Hunter Rise for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, and Xbox One will be digital-only. No physical editions planned. https://t.co/y9ToPz47hK
