Mortal Kombat 1 Developer Investigating Player 1 Advantage Issue

Fighters in the Player 2 slot can't properly land their combos, while those in the Player 1 slot can, regardless of stance.

NetherRealm Studios is looking into a recently discovered issue in Mortal Kombat 1, which confers an advantage to Player 1. On the WB Games bug portal for the fighting game, the investigation is “in progress.”

As discovered by mrAPchem on YouTube, the issue involves fighters in the Player 2 slot not fully connecting with their combos. They function properly in the Player 1 slot, regardless of Kameo Fighter and stance. It’s seemingly an issue with Player 1’s hurtbox, preventing Player 2’s combos from properly connecting.

Other players like Fable have been able to reproduce it – check out their video below. Not only does it grant a massive advantage to those in the Player 1 slot, regardless of character, but it’s also applicable in online play, which is disastrous for any fighting game. NetherRealm hasn’t indicated when it will be fixed, so stay tuned for more details.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out our review for more details.
