NetherRealm Studios has released the launch trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, which launches next week worldwide. Premium and Kollector’s Edition owners can start on September 14th, so this should be a good preview of what to expect.

Following last week’s reveal of Nitara, Reiko is revealed to be a playable character. He’s a rough-and-tumble fighter who relies on a spear to tear opponents apart. Of course, other combos and moves are showcased, but best of all, Shang Tsung’s in-game combat style is revealed. In addition to striking with claws and teleporting projectiles, the sorcerer retains his ability to shapeshift.

Of course, he also has a brutal Fatality, which involves pouring some solution into his opponent’s innards with some nasty results. Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch (which has some issues, per leaked footage). You can check out some more gameplay here, highlighting the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage.
