Mortal Kombat 11 Gets Another Leak Suggesting Ash Williams Is Joining Roster

It's a secret to everyone, baby.

Mortal Kombat has, somewhat unexpectedly, become a major multimedia crossover title. That process began with Mortal Kombat 2011 when Freddy Krueger popped up as the final DLC character for that game. This has since continued in the sequels, with Mortal Kombat 11 being something of an intersection of pop culture with comics, movies, and video games. The latest DLC character, Spawn, for instance is a prime example. One horror icon has been rumored to be coming, too, and well, we’ve got another unexpected sign pointing to the grooviest of heroes joining the fray soon.

In an e-mail sent out to promote the release of Spawn, there was an eye-raising trademark at the bottom below those for Joker and Terminator. As you can see below, it pretty explicitly names Ash from Army of Darkness in the trademarks.

The actor who portrayed Ash through the Evil Dead franchise (Army of Darkness is the third entry in that series) and voiced him in various video games, Bruce Campbell, has not once, but twice denied that Ash will be playable in the game. But with all these leaks and teases, either someone is having a lot of fun, or the great chinned one is playing us all like fiddles.

Mortal Kombat creator and producer Ed Boon has already confirmed more support is coming for Mortal Kombat 11, so odds are we’re getting more fighters relatively soon. I personally won’t be too surprised to hear the iconic rev of that chainsaw when that time comes.
