NeatherRealm Studios have put out a new story trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, and it’s a good one. There’s a lot to dig into here. For starters, Erron Black is back (and he has a rifle now), which is bound to send fans of the series into a tizzy. Jacqui Briggs and Cassie Cage are featured as well, as many have been expecting they will be- all of three of these characters, incidentally, were also part of the recent roster leak.

It also seems like Shao Kahn will have an important role to play in the story, which is great to see- but it does make the fact that he’s only playable if you pre-order the game that much more baffling. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of gore, brutality, and Johnny Cage being Johnny Cage. Kronika, the Keeper of Time, also gets a fair bit of screen time, as she looks to clean up the mess that Raiden created. Long story short, if you’re looking forward to the game, you’re gonna want to see this- check it out below.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on April 23 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. PS4 and Xbox One players will get a couple of chances to try out the game this month, though, once during an online stress test, and then during its closed beta- read more on that through here.
