This Game Awards ceremony seems to have a habit of making rumours come true. NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 11 was finally announced at the show, and it was revealed in the best way possible – with tons of bloody violence. Check out the trailer below for yourself.

It features Raiden and Scorpion battling it out, exchanging several bloody moves before the former emerges victorious. Interestingly enough, old-school Scorpion arrives soon after, and takes down Raiden. Once again, we should emphasize that this trailer is very, very violent, as Mortal Kombat usually is. Unfortunately, gameplay wasn’t showcased.

A fully community reveal is planned for January 17th, 2019, so hopefully more information will be provided there. Mortal Kombat 11 is slated to release on April 23rd, 2019. It will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. What characters can we look forward to, and will the game continue from the insane events of Mortal Kombat X? Stay tuned for more information as The Game Awards continue.
