The latest entry in the beloved, bloody fighting franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, showed why the series has the following it does. It was a solid fighter with tons of content, and more to come. It’s also became something of a crossover title too, similar to previous entries, as more DLC has added characters from across the popular culture spectrum, with the next one being indie comic character Spawn. If you haven’t checked it out, now is the time.

This weekend will see a free trial of the fighter run, starting today. While it’s not clear what will be free, the last free weekend allowed you to play through 2 chapters of the story mode and all multiplayer modes, so we can expect something along those lines.

While Mortal Kombat 11 is available on PC and Switch as well, the tweet only mentions the free weekend being available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It seems as of now you’ll need at least one of those to partake in the free trial. The free weekend will start as of today, and run until March 9th.
