We’ve been getting a steady stream of character reveals for Mortal Kombat 11 over the past weeks and months, to the point where we now pretty much know its entire roster. There are some, however, who’ve been hoping that there are characters in the game that the developers haven’t spoke about that might be unlocked through some different means- such as in the Krypt.

That, however, is not the case. Speaking with Game Informer, NetherRealm Studios’ senior systems designer Derek Kirtzic confirmed that though the Krypt includes several items and “nostalgic” things that will be very pleasing to a lot of fans of the series, there are no unlockable characters in the Krypt. You can take a look at the video below- it’s timestamped, so just hit play.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out in a couple of days, on April 23, for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Take a look at its nostalgia-fuelled and bombastic launch trailer through here. If you’re getting it on the Switch, you might also be interested in checking out the new gameplay video to see how it’s looking and playing on Nintendo’s hybrid system.
