Mortal Kombat X

NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat X will mark the debut of the franchise to the Xbox One and PS4 but it will still cater to previous gen consumers. PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers may need to wait a bit longer to get their hands on it though as publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the delay of both versions.

A statement to Videogamer from the publisher “confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14.”

Warner Bros. is taking a page out of the books of Activision and EA (and pretty much every current gen developer these days) by having a separate studio work on the previous gen release of Mortal Kombat X. However, it seems that it will take a bit more time to cater to PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers in the process. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
