Mortal Kombat X

As impressive as NetherRealm Studios’ reveal of Mortal Kombat X was yesterday, it seems that we’ll need to be a bit more skeptical in the coming days. This is because the visuals in the trailer were purely CG and didn’t reflect any gameplay at all.

This was unearthed by Twitter user Karting StreetsAhead who also linked to the studio, Digital Dimension, that created the CG trailer. Digital Dimension is also responsible for creating the trailers for Eidos Montreal’s Thief and Sid Meier’s Civilization Beyond Earth.

It’s likely that Mortal Kombat X will be showcased with gameplay at E3 2014. But as far as CG trailers are usually concerned, this is an indication that the game will look nothing like the first trailer. Will “close enough” be good enough in this case?

Mortal Kombat X is slated to release in 2015 for Xbox One, xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. Let us know what you think of the game in the comments below.
