Granted that this relationship doesn’t end well, but regardless, their tale is one of sadness as well as true love. When Maria is killed, James decides to go to Silent Hill and face the horrors of the strange town. His devotion for his wife was quite admirable, so much so that he didn’t mind facing off against all manner of terrifying creatures, trying desperately to search for his dead wife and hoping against hope to find her somehow alive. It is one of those tales, where hope is crushed repeatedly, but it manages to persevere regardless.
