MultiVersus

The latest open beta patch for Player First Games’ MultiVersus launched recently, adding a new playable character – Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty. In a new fighter showcase trailer, content creator and world-ranked Super Smash Bros. player NAKAT breaks down Rick’s abilities.

Rick is a Mage-type character who works best when comboing with allies and scoring ring-outs but struggles when abilities are on cooldown. The Air and Ground Neutral fire his blaster – tapping the button deals light damage and holding it fires charged shots that cause knockback. His Ground Down Attack deploys a bomb that explodes and can be used to set up combos and Edge Guards.

The Meseeks Box is his Ground Neutral Special, summoning Mr Meseeks and causing him to charge forward. Other commands are executed by holding up and down. Not giving orders to the first Meseeks allows for summoning a second one. Rick can then order both at the same time.

Rick’s Air and Ground Down Special is the Polymorphrick Ray that transforms enemies and enlarges allies. Enlarged allies deal more damage and suffer less knockback. An enlarged Rick can also deploy enlarged Meseeks for more damage. There’s plenty more in his arsenal so check out the full video below for more details.

MultiVersus is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
