NBA 2K21 current gen 2

Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have yet to reveal gameplay for the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions of NBA 2K21. Nevertheless, the current-gen versions are out next month with a demo arriving shortly before. The demo goes live on August 24th for Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Several new details on current-gen gameplay have also been released. There are 40 new jump shot landings and Pro Stick Shooting has seen an upgrade. Dribble moves have also been overhauled and there’s no more Quick Draw Badge. The spiffy new Shot Meter seen in the recent current-gen trailer will also be available and has a target window this time.

NBA 2K21 releases on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will launch for Xbox Series X and PS5 this holiday season, retailing for $70 instead of the usual $60 price tag. 2K Games defended the higher price, citing “nearly endless replay value and many new additions and improvements.” Stay tuned for more details in the coming months, especially when the elusive next-gen gameplay appears.
