Need for Speed film

Enjoyed the film adaptation of Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed, which featured Aaron Paul and was arguably one of the worst films ever made? A sequel is apparently in the works between EA and China Movie Channel, which is the co-production company that brought us Transformers: Age of Extinction.

This is according to Variety, which quoted China Movie Channel Program Center, Jiaflix Enterprises and 1905 Pictures that stated that the film would be shot in China and have several actors from the region in large roles. Production will begin later this year, provided the film rights are secured from Dreamworks. The reason for China Movie Channel investing in a sequel isn’t surprising when you consider that it was the biggest box office draw with $66 million raked in overall.
