Need for Speed Payback Update Buffs REP and Bank Rewards

With the recent controversy around microtransactions controversy, Ghost Games seems to be offering more rewards in Payback.

Perhaps in light of negative feedback towards its progression system in Star Wars Battlefront 2, EA has announced some changes to the progression in Need for Speed Payback. Developer Ghost Games revealed that more REP and Bank would be given for events.

You can also expect to gain increased REP and Bank from Bait Crates and facing off against Roaming Racers. Even if you don’t finish an event in first place, you can still expect to gain a bit more REP and Bank. Air Suspension will be given in Shipments more and there will be more changes to tune-up shops, especially with regards to the parts quality. These changes will be coming later though.

It doesn’t seem like EA will be removing microtransactions from Need for Speed Payback completely like it did with Star Wars Battlefront 2. Regardless, those still playing the open world racer will have some kind of increased reward structure at the very least. Check out the full update notes below:

  • Increased the amount of REP awarded by taking part in events.
  • Increased the amount of Bank awarded by taking part in events.
  • Bait crates now reward increased REP.

  • Competing against a Roaming Racer will reward you with increased REP.

  • Air Suspension will now appear more frequently within Shipments.
