EA And Ghost Games have announced that they will be taking a different approach to the soundtrack and music with Need for Speed Payback. While the series has always been a headliner of the EA Trax label, this time around, they will be pioneering something else entirely.
Recognizing the power of music to influence and enhance the emotional response elicited by games, they will reserve specific songs for specific situations and contexts, to pump the player up appropriately. Depending on what you are doing, you will hear different music- Queens of the Stone Age, Nothing but Thieves, and Warbly Jets if you are racing, for example, or electronic tracks by Spoon, Duckwrth, Bonobo, and Rae Sremmurd as you customize your ride in the garage. This will be in addition to an original score for the game.
