New Battlefield Game May Release Next Year; Will Be ‘Visually Stunning’ According To EA

All of which was, frankly, expected.

EA has confirmed something that all of us knew at this point- a new Battlefield game will be launching next year. This really shouldn’t be much of a surprise to anyone, since the series has maintained a bi-annual schedule since Battlefield 3 now, and DICE itself has been releasing a game a year for a while, alternating between Battlefield and Battlefront.

Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed during a financial call that the game is due to launch between April 1 2018 and March 31 2019- presumably, it will be the tentpole EA fall release next year. He also hyped up the game some, pointing out that it will be ‘visually stunning’ and ‘deeply immersive’. which is, of course, to be expected from a DICE game. Every DICE game, even the ones that have otherwise been disappointing, has been visually resplendent.

Battlefield will launch, I assume, next year, on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC- it will be interesting to see what setting DICE tackles next, after World War 1 with Battlefield 1.
