New Halo and Gears Games Look Amazing, Says Phil Spencer

Show, don't tell, Mr. Spencer.

As sure as the sun rises (and then sets) tomorrow, there will be a new Halo game and a new Gears game- even if we might not get to see them for a while. And in fact, speaking to Famitsu in Japan, Xbox head Phil Spencer teased the new games a bit, noting that he has seen what 343 Industries and The Coalition are up to, and it is ‘amazing.’

As for why these games were not revealed, Spencer says that the diversity and strengths of the Xbox lineup is currently enough to compensate for not having these games. Of course, I need to establish, this statement, as well as the fact that Spencer thought that 2015 or 2016 were ‘the best lineups in Xbox history’- not just Xbox One history, in Xbox history- means that his standards may be a bit different from all of our standards.

That said, 343 Industries and The Coalition are talented- so I do want to see what Halo 6 and Gears of War 5 look like. Hopefully they are past the teething troubles, and come out swinging. We’ll see.
