New Mobile phones will outperform the PS3 and Xbox 360 – Nvidia

Nvidia sure has been talking a lot about consoles.

Nvidia hasn’t stopped its diatribe against the consoles and now it says that the next batch of mobile phones will be so powerful that it will outperform the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Now, it’s a really weird comment because they seem to be comparing the specs directly and not the theoretical performance. The PS3 for example has an XDR memory which is still very difficult to replicate on mobiles due to the fast bandwidth on offer.

Tony Tamasi, Senior Vice President of Content & Technology for Nvidia, who had recently mentioned that the PS4 has a low end CPU and mid range GPU, has made these comments again. “The PS3 and Xbox 360 are barely more powerful than mobile devices… The next click of mobile phones will outperform [them],” he said.

The company currently has Tegra 4 out on the market and the next gen tech, probably Tegra 5, will outperform these consoles.
