New Nintendo 3DS Gets Price Drop To $99 In North America

At that price, there is no reason to not buy it.

New Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo have announced that they will be dropping the price of the standard, smaller sized New Nintendo 3DS model in North America to just $99 for Black Friday. The models will be available in black and in white, and will be available starting November 25.

This means that for $99, you can pick up a high end Nintendo 3DS – the system with the best library on the market at the moment – and get access to the entire DS, DSi, 3DS, and New 3DS library. That’s twelve years of excellent portable gaming to you available right off the bat, without counting 3D Classics and Virtual Console games. More importantly, this also means that 3DS-less people can get Pokemon Sun/Moon for less than $150 total- at that price, it’s hard to make an argument against the purchase.

It’s unclear if the price drop is permanent, or just temporary for the holidays. But given the launch of the Switch come March, it seems like Nintendo may be looking to make the 3DS a lower priced entry into the Nintendo ecosystem.
