New Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo held a Direct presentation this morning and provided some much needed new information on its upcoming 3DS successor. The New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL will be launching this year on November 21st for both Australia and New Zealand. Meanwhile, North America and Europe will only receive it in 2015 with a more concrete release date to be revealed down the line.

The 3DS will AU$219.95 or £119 while the 3DS XL will cost AU$249.95 or £135 when it releases. A total of 20 face plates will be available when it launches and Nintendo has confirmed (via Videogamer) that Australian handhelds can play UK games. No region-locking in this particular instance, since Europe and Australia are apparently the same region. The rest of the world? Tough luck.

Xenoblade Chronicles on the New 3DS will be out in 2015 according to Nintendo with more details to follow later. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
