The power of the PlayStation 4 brings Shadow of the Colossus to life.

Shadow of the Colossus

PlayStation 2 classic Shadow of the Colossus always seemed rather held back by the limitations of the time, reigning in a game with ambition larger than the gargantuan bosses that Wanderer would go to topple on his quest to save his lover.

The PlayStation 4 remake that seeks to unchain these majestic beasts with modern hardware was dated earlier this week for a February 6, 2018 release date, and now thanks to Gamersyde at Paris Games Week 2017, we have 18 minutes of off-screen footage of the anticipated title.

The various clips shared by Gamersyde display the stunning scope of the game finally realized, taking us over the vast fields, desolate bridges arid sands, all brought to life with gorgeous lighting, stunning effects and an amazing draw distance to put players right into the world like never before. We witness some of the games’ Colossi brought to their knees with expert precision, and they’ve never looked quite so intimidating before.
