SOMA induces insomnia.

Soma

We all know Frictional Games’ penchant for creating terrifying video games. They created a new kind of horror game when they released Amnesia: Dark Descent five years ago, and with their upcoming game Soma, they are trying to create a new kind of horror. Taking the stage at the PC Game Show at E3 2015, they spoke about how they wanted to create a new, more unsettling kind of horror, one that makes the player question existence, their place in the universe, and humanity’s role in the larger scheme of things at large.

Sounds remarkably Lovecraftian.

After this, we got a brand new trailer for the game, which you can see above. Of course, Soma being a horror game, by definition, a trailer will never fully do it justice, especially given the kind of horror that this game is aiming for. Still, the trailer looks great.
