Yakuza Ishin

After the recent release of Yakuza: Ishin in Japan for the PS4 and PS3 in Japan, Sega has revealed that it is developing a new game in the series.

This was revealed in an interview with Famitsu by series supervisor Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Masayoshi Yokoyama. Not many details had been included aside from the fact that the game is in the production stage and auditions are currently being held for hostesses in the game. Though hostesses made an appearance in Ishin, they are more of a big deal in the contemporary games so it’s likely that the next Yakuza will be in a modern day setting.

Yakuza: Ishin, which released on February 22nd and remains exclusive to Japan, is set during the Bakumatsu period and involves samurai as Sakamoto Ryoma works to take revenge for the death of his mentor. Did we mention the Shinsengumi are involved? Hopefully there will be more information on the game in the coming months.
