It was recently confirmed that the next Alan Wake game will be revealed at the Video Game Awards in December, and now Major Nelson has confirmed that the new Alan Wake game will be a download only release, for Xbox Live, and there will be no retail copies of the game.
It will, however, be a “fully standalone” title, not a DLC or an expansion of last year’s Alan Wake.
“We can confirm that this new “Alan Wake” game will be a fully standalone experience and released on Xbox LIVE,” Major Nelson confirmed via Twitter.
It’s possible that this isn’t really Alan Wake 2, just a spin-off. In fact, it’s the most conceivable option. In any case, we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.
