As has been the norm for a few years at this point, we didn’t get a dedicated PlayStation event in December 2021, which means it’s been a few months since Sony last provided us with major new updates on what to expect for PS5 in the coming months and years. If rumours are to be believed though, that might change soon.
Taking recently to Twitter, known industry insider Tom Henderson discussed an ongoing rumour that claims that the next PlayStation event might be set for February, “based on this month’s media events and past PlayStation dates.” Henderson says that this event “has the potential to be a pretty big one”, and seems to be suggesting in a separate tweet that Hogwarts Legacy might also finally show up at long last (which falls in line with other recent rumours about the game’s next showing).
Sony recently officially announced PSVR2 at CES 2022, along with unveiling Horizon Call of the Mountain for it, so if there is indeed a new event set for February, it’ll be interesting to see if we get more details on that front. Either way, this is unconfirmed information for now, so as always, take it with a grain of salt until we hear something official from Sony.
The current rumor is that the next Sony event looks like it could be in February based on this month's media events and past PlayStation dates.
It'll probably be State of Play, but it has the potential to be a pretty big one IMO. pic.twitter.com/Si0QSY7PeZ
