Gamescom 2017 provided plenty of new footage for Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, Level-5’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed PS3 RPG, and we got to see the new Skirmish battle type. The Wyvern’s Den area, Wyvern Warlord boss battle and Longfang boss battle are also showcased. Check them out below.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom follows the tale of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, a young boy who’s kingdom was usurped by him. He thus sets out to rebuild his kingdom, gaining allies along the way and fighting battles with magic and “Higgledies”, special elemental creatures.

The game boasts a large open world to explore and a revamped combat system which transitions seamlessly from exploration to battle. That’s not including the new Kingdom Mode where players can craft their own kingdom.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom was originally slated to launch this year but will now release on January 19th for PS4 and PC. There’s also a chance that the original Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch could head to PC as well.
