That escalated quickly.

Nier Automata, the upcoming PS4 and PC action RPG developed by Platinum Games and Square Enix, is almost here- it launches in Japan later this week, while it launches in the rest of the world next month. As such, Square Enix is now naturally amping up the hype for the game, such as with this new game commercial.

This new commercial, in Japanese, and for Japan, is actually a pretty good one with a rather disturbing twist right at the end- fans of the series will probably be left wondering at what just happened when they see the scene.

NieR Automata is due out for PS4 later this month in Japan, and next month in the west. It will be launching on PC later. A Nintendo Switch version for the game has been discussed, while an Xbox One version has been conclusively shot down by the developers. You can see the new trailer below and let us know what you think.
