NieR Automata (8)

Platinum Games’ NieR Automata, their PlayStation 4 exclusive sequel to Square Enix’s flawed original, recently had its very first live gameplay footage revealed at the NieR themed concert that was being held in Japan. You can check out this new footage for yourself below- the game looks fantastic. But you already knew that it would, it’s a Platinum Games game.

While the videos here don’t do full justice to the game’s graphics or buttery smooth performance, director Taro Yoko mentioned multiple times that the aim was to have the game run at 1080p and 60fps- a rare feat even for PS4 games, but one we have no doubt that Platinum will be able to pull off with aplomb.

NieR Automata is due out on the PlayStation 4 exclusively some time this year. A final release date has not yet been announced, neither for the game’s Japanese release, nor for its western one.
