Ninja Gaiden 4, co-developed by PlatinumGames and Team Ninja, has received some new hands-on previews and impressions are positive thus far. While it’s on track for launch, the team has plans for adding more content afterwards, including some new weapons for Ryu Hayabusa.

Team Ninja director Masakazu Hirayama told Next-Play that there are plans for “additional weapons in DLC,” included in the Deluxe Edition. However, he also noted that there will be more gameplay content that “isn’t just limited to additional weapons.” “We’ll be revealing more details about what you can expect from that content in the future.”

Currently, newcomer Yakumo has three revealed weapons (including a brutal drill) with a fourth to be showcased in the future. Ryu Hayabusa, meanwhile, only has the Dragon Sword, but it’s unclear whether this is his only option, so stay tuned for updates.

Ninja Gaiden 4 launches on October 21st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Like many other titles, it will be playable at Xbox’s Gamescom booth from August 20th to 24th. In the meantime, check out our feature for everything you should know about the lightning-quick hack-and-slash action-adventure (including the new Bloodbath kills).
