Nintendo 3DS XL announced: 90% bigger screen, better battery

Posted By | On 22nd, Jun. 2012

Nintendo has announced the 3DS revision which has come as a surprise and it will feature a 90% bigger screen along with higher battery life. It doesn’t feature a second analogue stick surprisingly, and will be priced at ¥18,900 and released first in Japan on July 28.

The system will also come bundled with New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Onitore. Nintendo America’s direct is now live, so we will keep you updated once we receive more info. The 3DS XL (LL Japanese name) will be available in America we’ve heard. In Europe it will come in Blue, Red, Black colours and will be available on July 28th.

The system will be available in the US on August 19 and will be priced at $199. Sort of expensive when you consider how low the default 3DS is priced at, but bigger battery and screen is a good value. There’s no adapter bundled in and you have to buy that separately, but if you own a 3DS, its adapter will work.
