Nintendo Apologizes For Switch Shortages, More Stock Promised For Coming Months

Nintendo is on a roll.

The Nintendo Switch will be back in stock for GameStop in the United States but it’s been seeing heavy demand and constant shortages since launch. In response to this, Nintendo has apologized on its Japanese site and though it’s been shipping new consoles every week, it will increase the number en route to the Splatoon 2 Switch bundle’s release.

“For autumn and beyond, we will continue to work to ensure that as many products as possible can be delivered to our customers towards the end of the year.”

Since launching in March, the Nintendo Switch has managed to outsell both the Xbox One and PS4 in March and April as per The NPD Group. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, its major launch title, also turned out to be a huge success. Though GameStop has been getting stock, it’s often sold out in the same day thanks to strong demand.

Have you been able to pick up a Switch? Are you interested to get one following all this hype? Let us know in the comments.
