Sega and Nintendo recently announced two new Sonic games for the latter’s 3DS and Wii U consoles, namely Sonic: Lost World and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. These titles are part of an exclusive deal between the companies which will see three new Sonic games releases exclusively for Nintendo’s consoles.

But while it seems a possibility that we’ll see the above two this year, could we be getting all three games in 2013 itself?

In a press release regarding the announcement of Sonic: Lost World, Nintendo of Germany stated that, “Today, they (Sega) revealed further details of the second of three titles, which the two companies will release exclusively on Wii U and 3DS. All three games will be released this year.”

It doesn’t seem unlikely – heck, why not release another spin-off of Sonic for fans to go along with the family friendly Winter Games and the old-school Lost World? Stay tuned as more details are revealed about all three releases.
