Nintendo’s Labo seems to be a genuinely good idea, with one of the neatest and most whimsical implementations of technology that I have ever seen. It is something truly out of the left field, and also something that only Nintendo could or would do.

The only problem I am seeing with the proposition is that it seems to be a bit too expensive to me- expensive enough, as a matter of fact, that I don’t know if it will manage to penetrate the mainstream like Nintendo so obviously wants it to. For instance, in the UK, the cheaper, “Variety” kit for the Labo will cot £60- while you get the game and the full kit in that package, that’s really pricey. The Robot Kit is an even more expensive £70.

Of course, as a friendly reminder, I also thought the Switch itself was too expensive to be a true mainstream success, and I was wrong there, so.
