While Sony may have announced that they will not be at E3 next year, it seems like their competitors are not going to let this opportunity go by. In a press release distributed by the Entertainment Software Association (the folks who organize E3), Nintendo of America’s President Reggie Fils-Aime is quoted as committing to being at E3 next year. What’s more, he specifically cites “sharing new games and experiences” with fans around the world, too.
“E3 is an outstanding opportunity for us to share new games and experiences with fans and business partners from across the globe,” he said. “Every year, we discuss what will be the best way for us to take advantage of the next E3 show in order to bring smiles to people’s faces.”
Nintendo’s E3 show this year was solid, but unspectacular, quite unlike their short, but winning performance last year. Hopefully next year, Nintendo will once again come out guns blazing, especially since Sony have vacated their spot. Hopefully Nintendo will bring multiple fantastic games to the event, from Pokemon to Metroid Prime 4 to Bayonetta 3, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, and maybe a few surprises too…
The Switch had a slower year this year—but hopefully, next year, with game releases and announcements, Nintendo will end up more than making up for that.
