Nintendo Switch 2 Won’t Launch Before March 2025 “at the Earliest” – Rumour

Recent reports have claimed that the console, previously set to launch later this year, has been pushed back into 2025.

Leaks over the last several months had insisted that Nintendo would be launching the successor to the Switch sometime in the second half of 2024, but last week, it was reported that those plans changed, with the console’s launch allegedly being internally delayed into the first quarter of 2025.

Since then, Bloomberg has published a report that corroborates those claims, and also provided slightly more specific information, stating that the Nintendo Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) won’t launch before March 2025 “at the earliest”- which means we won’t be getting the console until the end of the quarter (or perhaps later, if it gets pushed back again).

Prior reports have claimed that Nintendo chose to delay the console so it could ensure a stronger first-party launch lineup- though that does lead one to wonder what games Nintendo is going to have planned for the current Switch in the interim. As it stands, the company has Princess Peach: Showtime!, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door lined up for 2024 Switch releases.

Previous reports had claimed that Nintendo would be announcing the Switch’s successor in March, but it remains to be seen how those plans have been impacted if the console has indeed been delayed.
