Nintendo Switch and PES 2019 Top Media Create Japan Charts in Another Quiet Week

Following in the wake of Conan: Exiles taking top spot in the software charts in Japan last week, it’s now time for another PS4 game to top the video game software charts in Japan- Media Create reports that the best selling game in Japan last week was Winning Eleven 2019, better known in the west as Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. Conan: Exiles got knocked down to second place.

Elsewhere in the charts, Nintendo games continue to leg it out, including Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There is one very important and notable exception here, however- Super Mario Odyssey has fallen out of the top 20 (as has Octopath Traveler), giving further credence to the notion that Breath of the Wild is now doing better than Odyssey.

On the hardware front, with a little over 42,000 units sold, the Switch topped charts again, with the PS4 coming in at a week second place, with sales under 20,000 units again. The 3DS, with a slight week-on-week increase, rounded out the top three again.
