Nintendo Switch App ‘Rainway’ For Streaming PC Games Announced, Beta Launching Next Month

Also coming to Xbox One, iOS, and Android.

It looks like the Nintendo Switch may be about to get a killer feature next month- Andrew Sampson, the developer behind Borderless Gaming and Steam Cleaner, has announced that his new app, Rainway, will be hitting the Nintendo Switch. This app is notable because it is capable of streaming any PC game to other devices via Remote Play- which means you could soon be playing Civilization 5 on your Nintendo Switch.

Apparently, the app is going to be an official one available from the eShop, and is launching in beta next month. It will also be made available on Xbox One, and iOS and Android tablets- but while those latter platforms may have been expected due to their more open nature, the Switch announcement definitely comes as a surprise.

It almost sounds too good to be true- but let’s hope this isn’t something that Nintendo suddenly decides it wants to shut down. This could add so much utility to the Switch.
