In spite of the fact that the Nintendo Switch is now officially confirmed, and that we know its core concept and its name and branding, we still know surprisingly little about Nintendo’s next machine. No specifics or particulars about the new hybrid system are known, including, for instance, its specs.
This isn’t even just about power or resolution- some basic things that will definitely impact user experience, such as the amount of storage on the system, the RAM it will have, and its battery life, are all important things that we still don’t know about.
However, this new report might shed some light on two out of those three. According to insider Emily Rogers (via WCCFTech), the Switch will have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. 4GB isn’t a lot- the PS4 and Xbox One both have 8GB. But the Switch is a portable first and foremost, and 4GB is top of the line and bleeding edge, compared to just about any smartphone and tablet on the market.
The Nintendo Switch is due to launch in March 2017 worldwide. An event will be held on January 12, 2017, that will shed more light on the Switch’s launch day, price, and games.
