The Switch has been maybe the biggest turnaround for a company from console to console generation in history. After the floundering of the Wii U and the 3DS performing well below the DS, it was hard to imagine a Nintendo system that would be as on top as they are with their new hybrid. That shows in the sales for North America, where the system continues to be pretty much on fire.
Nintendo announced today that the system has topped 15 million sales in North America. The landmark comes after just over 2 years on the market. Along with hardware sales, Nintendo revealed that 14 Switch titles have surpassed 1 million sales, with 4 titles breaking 6 million. Considering the amount of software still to come, it bodes well for the system’s trajectory.
This comes not long after it was announced that the Switch had sold over 10 million in Europe, a market that has traditionally been soft for the company. Considering the combination of these two regions, along with Asia and other select regions where the system is officially available, the lifetime sales of Switch – which stood at over 36 million at last count – are looking pretty healthy right now.
