Nintendo Switch Hits 2 Years Since Release, Xbox Congratulates It On Anniversary

Nothing suspicious about that whatsoever.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

On March 3 2017, Nintendo launched the Nintendo Switch alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The hype leading into the release of the console, and the game (which is arguably among the greatest games of all time) caused it to have an incredibly successful launch, success that the Switch has since maintained in the last two years.

With the console hitting two years of age on Friday, Nintendo, naturally, took to commemorating the occasion, with various Nintendo accounts congratulating the console on the anniversary. Also congratulating Nintendo and the Switch was the Swedish Xbox account, getting a cross platform play nudge in as well when they said “you have many great games, but the ones we like most are the ones we can play with you”.

Of course, Xbox’s tweet will only add more fuel to the fires of the rumors of Xbox and Nintendo working together on something; however, even without those rumors, Switch is primed to have an incredible third year, with a hell of a lineup planned for 2019.
