What could he be referring to?

Nintendo has the broadest palette of franchises in the gaming industry- they cover almost every style and genre of games that there is, from racing to fighting to shooters to action adventure games, action games, RPGs, strategy games, puzzle games, simulation games, and more.

But Nintendo games have a very specific style and aesthetic to them, and a tone they mostly share- only few Nintendo games, such as Metroid or Xenoblade, break that. It sounds like more games of that sort from Nintendo may be coming soon.

In an interview with Famitsu (via Nintendo Life), Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi, the man behind Super Mario Odyssey, and the Switch itself, confirmed that Nintendo would be putting out non-Nintendo like games next year. Which- I guess Metroid is one of them. But what else could he be referring to? Retro’s next game? An F-Zero revival? Something totally unexpected? I can’t wait to see what they do- I want to see them try to top this year.
