Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Bundle Is Real… If You Live In Russia

No plans for a western release for now.

Remember that Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle we told you about? You might have thought it won’t be real, especially since it was not announced in the Nintendo Direct that was held later that day. Well, it turns out that it is real- it’s real, but it’s not releasing anywhere in the world, except for in Russia.

“The bundle is exclusive to Russia and there are no plans to bring it to other countries at this time,” a Nintendo representative told Gamespot.

Of course, this doesn’t have to mean anything in the long run- Mario Kart games almost always end up bundled eventually, and for Nintendo, bundling Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the Switch should be a cheap and easy way to ensure that sales momentum for the console does not relent or let up.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on April 28. It is a remaster of the superlative Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, with a brand new, exhaustive Battle Mode.
