Nintendo has announced that it is continuing selling its Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle. Along with this, the company has also unveiled a new bundle that includes a copy of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort with the console. Both bundles come with a 3-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
A major change in the Mario Kart World console bundle is its price; keeping in line with price hikes hitting the Nintendo Switch 2 from September 1st onwards, the bundle will now be priced at $549.99. The Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle also has the same price tag, which Nintendo refers to as offering savings of $37.98 when compared to buying the console and the game separately.
Considering its release date, the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle will only be available from October 22nd onwards. It is also worth keeping in mind that both bundles include codes for their respective games rather than physical copies.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was announced back in June. The title, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2, will include 12 different sports, all of which are played entirely through the motion controls on the JoyCon 2 controllers. The available sports are boxing, archery, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, power cruising, prop plane, and jump rope.
While the series has been known for making use of Nintendo’s Mii avatars in the past, the upcoming title will also provide the option of playing with new high-definition Sports Miis.
Few details about the various multiplayer modes of the game have been revealed. Going by its emphasis on motion controls, however, there will likely be a focus on local multiplayer with a few online options thrown in.
The announcement trailer for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was capped off with an extended look at one of its 12 sports: thumb wrestling. Players have to hold a JoyCon 2 controller and ensure that its trigger buttons are also reachable, and the ultimate goal of the sport is to pin the opponent’s thumb for three seconds.
Mario Kart World, on the other hand, was one of the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch titles. The kart racer has gone on to be incredibly successful, and despite its $80 price tag, has sold over 14 million copies as of December 31st, 2025.
The company has continued to offer plenty of long-term support for Mario Kart World. Just last month, for instance, a free update brought in the Drill and Boomerang Rallies for its Knockout Tour mode. Drill Rally takes racers from Wario Shipyard all the way to the north-western end, with its finale being Bowser’s Castle. Boomerang Rally, on the other hand, starts at Salty Salty Speedway and heads north, culminating at Whistletop Summit.
