After what felt like an eternity of leaks and rumours, Nintendo recently officially confirmed that it would be officially unveiling its next-gen console at some point before April 2025. With leaks claiming that the console is expected to launch sometime in March next year, it’s clear that the current Switch is on its last legs- but that doesn’t mean Nintendo doesn’t have any more games primed to launch for the system.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door’s remake released recently, while Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is up next, and it seems Nintendo has yet more remasters planned. As per known Nintendo leaker PH Brazil (Via My Nintendo News), who has previously been at the forefront of several major Nintendo-related leaks, the Japanese company plans to release two more remasters for the existing Switch.

As per the leaker, one of these will be a remaster of a GameCube game, while the other will be a remaster of a 3DS title. Where the latter is concerned, we’ve had numerous leaks of a remaster of Kid Icarus: Uprising, while fans would also like to see the likes of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Metroid: Samus Returns (among others) being re-released.

As for the GameCube game, leaks have claimed in the past that Nintendo plans to bring Metroid Prime 2: Echoes to the Switch, while as ever, there’s going to be no shortage of demand for ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD either.

Allegedly, both games will launch after March 2025, which means they will potentially prolong the Switch’s lifecycle beyond the release of its successor- which would be in line with how Nintendo handled the 3DS after the Switch’s release.

The company has confirmed that it’s set to host a Direct showcase in June, where it will be talking about the games coming to the Switch in the second half of 2024.
