This Friday will see the release of Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja’s Nioh 2. The game promises a lot of things: the return to the dark and mystical side of historical Japan, incredible customization, wild monster designs, and more of the in-depth combat that made the first title stand out. The game seems to refine the things we loved about the first game, while fixing a lot of the issues it had. Now, we get a bit of an appetizer before the main course with its opening cinematic.

The video was released by the Japanese Koei Tecmo channel, and you can see it below. It focuses largely on the action you can expect to have while then segueing into the yokai form-centric abilities that will play a key role in the combat of the sequel.

Nioh 2 will launch on March 13th exclusively on PlayStation 4. For 15 things you need to know about the samurai-based action RPG, take a look through there.
